Terms of Service

1. What Latchio is

Latchio helps you practice spoken English and manage screen time. You can block distracting apps and websites using Apple's Screen Time features, and earn time to unlock them by completing short speaking practice.

Blocking depends on iOS features and on the permissions you grant (such as Screen Time access and notifications). Latchio is a self-management tool, not a parental-control or security product, and we do not guarantee that blocking can never be bypassed. We also do not guarantee any particular learning outcome.

2. The waitlist

The waitlist site lets you express interest in Latchio and early TestFlight beta access. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee access, a beta invite, or a launch date. The product, features, and timing described on the site may change.

3. Accounts and eligibility

The App requires an account, created by signing in with Apple or Google. You must be old enough to consent to these Terms and to the processing of your data under the laws of your country, and the information you provide must be yours and accurate.

You can delete your account at any time inside the App (Profile, Account, Delete my account). Deleting your account removes your data from our servers as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. License

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.

These Terms are an agreement between you and us, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

5. Latchio Pro subscriptions

Some features require Latchio Pro, an optional auto-renewing subscription purchased through your Apple Account. Where offered, a free trial converts to a paid subscription unless canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

Your subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it anytime in your Apple Account settings. Payment is charged by Apple; refunds are handled by Apple under App Store rules. Prices may change, and we will give you notice as required before a change applies to you.

6. Acceptable use

Do not submit other people's information without permission, attempt to disrupt, probe, or reverse engineer the Service, circumvent its limits, or use it for any unlawful purpose. You also confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

7. AI features

Parts of the Service (such as conversation practice, feedback, and generated courses) are produced by artificial intelligence. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete. It is provided for language-learning practice only and is not professional advice of any kind.

8. Communications

If you join the waitlist, you agree that we may email you about the Latchio launch and, if you opt in, about TestFlight beta access. You can opt out at any time by contacting us. In the App, you control practice reminders and other notifications in the App's and iOS settings.

9. Intellectual property

Latchio, the Latchi mascot, the name, the logo, the courses, and all Service content belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse them without permission. You keep the rights to what you say and write in the App, and you give us the license needed to operate the Service for you (for example, storing your progress and conversation history in your account).

10. Disclaimer

The Service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error free. We, not Apple, are responsible for the App, for any maintenance and support of it, and for addressing any claims relating to it (including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and consumer-protection claims).

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Termination

You can stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) survive termination.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If we do, we will post the new version here with a new date. Continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Terms.
