Privacy Policy

1. Account data

When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifier and email address (and, if shared, the name) that the provider gives us, and we create your account with our backend provider, Supabase. During onboarding we may also ask for your name, your English level, and your learning goal to personalize the App.

2. Learning data

To make the App work across your devices, your learning state is stored in your account: course and lesson progress, earned screen-time balance, streaks, badges, saved phrases and words you looked up, recent practice scores, and App preferences such as language and appearance.

3. Voice and speech

Pronunciation scoring uses Apple's Speech framework. Whenever your device supports it, recognition runs entirely on your device; on devices that do not, Apple may process the audio to produce the transcript, under Apple's terms. We do not upload your practice recordings to our servers for scoring.

AI conversation features work differently: when you chat or speak with the AI partner, your messages and speech transcripts (and, on live voice calls, your audio) are sent to our servers and processed by OpenAI to generate replies and feedback. We do not allow your content to be used to train their models. Your conversation history is stored in your account so you can review it.

4. Screen Time and blocking

App blocking uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework. The apps you choose to block are represented by opaque system tokens stored on your device; we cannot see which apps you block. The website domains you type into the block list, and counts of blocked attempts, are synced to your account so they survive a new device.

5. Purchases

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple, which processes the payment; we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status: it receives a pseudonymous user identifier and transaction information from Apple to tell the App whether Latchio Pro is active.

6. Notifications

If you enable notifications, we store your device push token, and we use your timezone and last-active time to send practice reminders and occasional come-back nudges. You can turn these off in the App or in iOS Settings at any time.

7. The waitlist site

When you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you submit, your language preference, whether you asked for TestFlight beta access, and the date you signed up. We use it only to contact you about the launch and, if you opted in, the beta. The site does not use advertising cookies; it stores only a small cookie to remember the language you chose.

8. Service providers

We share data only with the providers needed to run the Service, acting on our behalf: Supabase (backend and database), OpenAI (AI conversation and feedback), RevenueCat (subscription status), Apple (sign-in, purchases, speech recognition, push notifications), Google (sign-in), and Vercel (website hosting). We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.

9. Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. Deleting your account in the App (Profile, Account, Delete my account) permanently removes your account and learning data from our servers. Waitlist emails are kept until launch or until you ask us to remove them, whichever comes first.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Contact us and we will honor your request as required by law.

11. Security

Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with our backend provider, Supabase. Access is limited to what is needed to run the Service.

12. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. We will post the new version here with a new date, and for material changes we will give you additional notice in the App.
